First, characteristics. The seedling stage of the seedlings of Heiya No. 16 is robust, with green stems, dark green leaves, blue flowers, short and concentrated inflorescences, and compact plant types. The seed coat is brown, with a grain weight of 4.3 grams and a growth period of 78 days. It belongs to medium-maturing varieties.
The plant height is about 100 cm, the branches are 3-4, the pods are 5-7, the stems are upright, flexible, and have strong lodging resistance. The incidence of blight is 1.4%, the incidence of anthrax is 0.3%, and rust and powdery mildew are not affected. The long-staple rate is 20.6% and the fiber strength is 259.22 newtons.
Second, cultivation points. The strain is strong in stress resistance and has wide adaptability. It is suitable for planting on various types of soil. It is better to use soybeans, corn, and wheat bran, which have a small weed base and fertile soil.
Proper sowing in Heilongjiang Province is from April 25th to May 5th. The sowing rate per acre is 7-7.3 kg. Seedlings are 5-10 cm tall when weeding.
