There are very few technical articles on the actual operation of desktop centrifuges, but practical training is very important for technicians. There are many varieties and manufacturers of desktop centrifuges, and the methods of use and operation are roughly the same. Today, we introduce the operation process of a certain brand machine for your reference.
1. Turn "POWER" to "ON".
2. Open the centrifuge cover (be careful not to use excessive force to avoid damage to the interlock), install the required centrifuge rotor on the shaft, and gently rotate the rotor by hand to verify that the rotor is in the correct position, that is, the shaft is required.
3. Screw "CONTROL" to the desired centrifugation temperature.
4. Based on the rotor and speed, find the compensation number in the “Temperature Compensation Curve†attached to the tabletop console, then adjust the “COMPENSATE†knob to this value.
5. Adjust the “SPEED†turntable to the desired speed (the speed should be chosen taking into account the allowable speed of the rotor, the allowable speed of the tabletop centrifuge and the endurance of the centrifuge tube).
6. Place the “BRAKE†switch in the “OFF†position to naturally decelerate at the end of the centrifuge. If you need emergency braking (when it is faulty), you can open it to the "ON" position, but generally do not use it.
7. Rotate the “TIMER†dial to the desired time scale. When rotating, turn the turntable clockwise first, then turn the turntable counterclockwise to the desired time, often for a few minutes, wait for the speed to rise. Adjust to the correct position when speed is required. If the centrifugation time is greater than 60 minutes, turn the turntable to the "FREE" position.
8. Place the balanced centrifuge tube sample symmetrically in the centrifuge hole of the rotor, cover the rotor cover, and tighten the screw cap.
9. Press the “START†button and the centrifuge will start running and the green light will be on.
10. At the end of the centrifugation, the “TIMER†turntable will return to the “0†position of the scale. “STOP†indicates that the red light will automatically light up. At this time, the centrifuge chamber can be opened and the centrifuge tube can be taken out. If you need to stop during the middle of centrifugation, or stop when "TIMER" is in the "FREE" position, press the "STOP" button until the red light is on before you can open the door.
Note: The desktop centrifuge must be operated according to the requirements. After reading the instruction manual provided by the corresponding manufacturer and the precautions for use, it can be operated. Safety first!
