Rabbit manure treatment can feed pigs

Dry rabbit manure is first collected and cleaned to remove any impurities. It is then spread in a thin layer on a concrete floor and left to dry for more than three hours. After drying, it is crushed and mixed into pig feed. This method is commonly used during the summer months when the weather is warm and dry, making the process more efficient.

In colder seasons, fresh rabbit droppings are collected and boiled to kill any harmful bacteria. After boiling, bran, cereal bran, or other suitable ingredients are added, and the mixture is boiled again for 10 to 15 minutes. The resulting mixture is stirred well and fed to pigs. This technique is typically preferred in winter to ensure the manure is safe and digestible for the animals.

Another approach involves soaking dried rabbit manure. The dried material is crushed and placed in a container, such as a pot or cylinder. Boiling water is added, and the mixture is stirred until it forms a smooth paste, which is then used as part of the pig's diet. This method helps to soften the manure and improve its nutritional value.

A chemical treatment method is also employed. Dried rabbit manure is crushed and mixed with 200 ml of a 0.1% formaldehyde solution per kilogram of feces. The mixture is thoroughly combined and then dried before being added to the pig’s feed. This process helps eliminate pathogens and makes the manure safer for consumption.

Fermentation is another effective way to process rabbit manure. The feces are spread in the sun for 2 to 3 days and then crushed. Water is sprayed over the material, and it is mixed together in a group. The mixture is then placed into a container or sealed plastic bag and left to ferment under anaerobic conditions. When the temperature reaches 40°C, the fermented material is ready for use. This process takes about 1 to 2 days in summer and slightly longer in winter.

When feeding pigs with processed rabbit manure, it is recommended to include 10% to 15% in the diet of piglets and 15% to 25% for finishing pigs. The amount of bran and rice bran added depends on the fermentation level and overall nutritional balance. Fermented rabbit manure is highly palatable and can improve the growth rate of pigs. However, it is advised to stop feeding it 20 days before slaughter to avoid any potential issues with meat quality.
