So… I’ve always loved starting posts with “so.” It feels conversational, like we’re picking up where we left off—like old friends catching up over coffee. Life gets busy, right? Between work, kids, laundry, and trying to keep the universe in check, it’s nice to pause and connect. And let’s face it, I’m all about those little chats, those tête-à-têtes, even if they’re happening mid-dinner prep or during a diaper change.

Tangent over.

So… recently, I snapped a picture of my sweet little guy in his cozy rocking chair. You know the one—the fluffy white one that’s practically become a family heirloom. His big sister gifted him that cute stuffed giraffe last year, but since we swapped out the pink accents for something more neutral to match his bedding, he seems to have outgrown it. Now, instead of curling up in the rocker, he’s exploring every inch of his room, toddling across the carpet, and testing out his newfound independence on the wooden floors of our hallway.

Just the other day, I took this picture of him standing tall in front of the camera. It felt like the perfect moment to kick off another year of documenting his growth month by month. This time around, there’s more space—more room for him to stretch his legs and grow into who he’s becoming. There’s a hint of that kid-sized giraffe in the background too, just to keep things cozy and familiar.

Here’s a closer look at the star of today’s show:

Brayden at Thirteen Months
Still chubby-cheeked but already walking with confidence. Look at those little legs—so strong, so determined. And don’t even get me started on that scrunchy nose smile. Pure magic.

Brayden at Thirteen Months
Those round blue eyes—they’re like pools of liquid wonder. Sometimes they remind me of the deep indigo sky outside his window, other times they reflect the silver glow of the moon. And those lips… oh, those sweet little milky lips.

And then there’s his hair. Soft and wild, tousled from running around all day. Those curls are going to be the highlight of the show, trust me. They’re practically stealing the spotlight already.

These pictures tell such a beautiful story—so much richer than anything I could put into words. My plate is full, my heart is bursting, and my mind is racing. But I’m not worried. I’m savoring every second of this journey, letting the quiet moments speak for themselves.

If you want to see how far we’ve come, here’s a peek at last year’s month-by-month series:
