The State Food and Drug Administration began to evaluate the drug safety responsibility system in the country

In order to further strengthen the drug safety responsibility system and implement the “12th Five-Year Plan” of the National Drug Safety, the State Food and Drug Administration issued a notice on December 6th and decided to further implement the evaluation of drug safety responsibility system nationwide.

In order to implement the requirements of the Party's Central Committee and the State Council on establishing a drug safety responsibility system with “the general responsibility of local governments, supervision and management departments are each responsible, and the company is the primary responsibility”, the State Food and Drug Administration started in November 2010. Provinces and municipalities organized and conducted trials for the evaluation of drug safety responsibility system. The provinces and cities of Hubei, Hunan, Heilongjiang, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Chongqing, and Ningbo have carried out evaluation work as the first batch of provincial-level pilots. Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi, Gansu and other provinces (autonomous regions) also actively carried out their own pilot work.

The principles for the evaluation of the drug safety responsibility system are the combination of local leaders and departments, the integration of overall planning and actual conditions, the combination of evaluation and sound systems, positive guidance, and finding gaps. The State Food and Drug Administration requires that all localities must strengthen the organization and leadership of evaluation work, improve their work plans, strengthen work guarantees, and make overall coordination so as to ensure the orderly progress of evaluation work. Through this work, we will promote the development and improvement of the drug safety responsibility system at all levels and at all levels.

According to the work arrangement of the State Food and Drug Administration, this work began in December 2012 and was completed by the end of July 2013.
