Sunday Citar ~ Home, Again… Almost.

It’s Sunday again, and you know what that means—time for another inspiring Sunday Citar! Whether it’s a quote that makes you smile, something thought-provoking, or even a new phrase you’ve stumbled upon, this is the perfect opportunity to share it with everyone. Join in, have some fun, and maybe even connect with new friends along the way. This particular post comes to you from a cozy corner of my heart, far away from home but still brimming with thoughts of where I belong. The photo accompanying this piece was originally shared somewhere special, and it feels fitting to bring it here today. It’s an image that captures the essence of adventure and longing, set against the backdrop of an open road stretching endlessly before me. And then there’s the quote, one that resonates deeply with me. It speaks volumes about living life fully, embracing its unpredictability, and finding meaning in every moment: “No, life cannot be understood flat on a page. It has to be lived; a person has to get out of his head, has to fall in love, has to memorize poems, has to jump off bridges into rivers, has to stand in an empty desert and whisper sonnets under his breath… We get one story, you and I, and one story alone. God has established the elements, the setting and the climax and resolution. It would be a crime not to venture out, wouldn’t it?” ~ Donald Miller, Through Painted Deserts As I sit here reflecting on this journey away from home, I find myself yearning for the familiar. Today marks my final day in this starched hotel room, surrounded by echoes of conversations and footsteps. I dream of sinking my toes into the rich soil of my backyard, feeling the comforting weight of my own ground beneath me. Home—it’s where my roots run deepest, where chaos feels like harmony, and where every breath carries the scent of belonging. But for now, I must drive forward. Tonight, I’ll steer my car homeward, watching the miles roll by as they carry me closer to the people who mean the most to me. To my kids, my husband, and yes, to the simple joy of saying “home-sweet-home.” Adventure is thrilling, isn’t it? Each step we take writes another chapter in our story, filled with twists, turns, and unforgettable moments. Yet, no matter how exciting the journey becomes, there’s always that pull back to where it all began—the haven of family and familiarity. That’s where the heart finds its peace. Stay tuned though, because there’s so much more to tell about this trip! Imagine meeting incredible people along the way, including fellow bloggers whose stories intertwine with ours. Unfortunately, due to a certain little explorer playing with my camera gear, some of those visuals will have to wait until later. Patience, dear reader—it’s worth it!
