Third, the health program includes several effective options to support sow health and improve reproductive performance:
Option 1: Add Expedition Probiotic No. 1 to the sow's feed for long-term use. Use 500 kg per bale mix. For sows with weak constitution, add a Gold Partner supplement at 1 ton per bale to enhance their immunity and vitality.
Option 2: Before and after breeding, as well as before and after farrowing, mix Expedition Vita into the feed. Add 200 grams of this supplement per ton of feed to support overall health and recovery.
Option 3: Three days before mating, include either Ring Tonka or 50% Astragalus polysaccharide in the feed for 5–7 days. Repeat this treatment 20 days later to boost fertility and immune function.
Option 4: For the first four days before feeding, add 100 grams of a special condiment per 100 kg of feed, and continue for 7–10 days. In winter, increase the dosage by adding 200 grams of Vitricampus and 300 grams of Astragalus polysaccharides per ton of feed for 5–7 days to protect against cold stress and infections.
Option 5: Three days before farrowing, fully disinfect the sow using a 400-times dilution of iodine flavone and a 200-times dilution of disease extinguishing solution. Spray the air at noon to ensure a clean environment and reduce the risk of infection during birth.
Option 6: Within 24 hours after farrowing, administer an intramuscular injection of Oxamethasone or Ofu at 10–20 ml per sow. If the sow fails to expel the placenta, perform a uterine perfusion after 24 hours to prevent uterine infections and promote recovery.
Option 7: Before the piglets nurse, dilute iodine 100 times and use it to clean the sow’s udders. Discard the first drop of milk (not including self-flow) and repeat this process for 2–3 days. This practice significantly improves hygiene and reduces the risk of mastitis in sows, leading to healthier piglets.
