Tetra Pak industry chain practices low carbon principles

Recently, Tetra Pak China announced that it will officially launch a dairy beverage packaging package with the Forest Stewardship Council FSC certification mark in the Chinese market to support sustainable forest management and promote the low carbon principles of the packaging industry chain. And provide consumers with more environmentally friendly packaging options.

FSC certification is an important standard in the field of sustainable forest management and management. A total of 10 principles and 56 standards have been established to measure whether forest management units have achieved “good business”. The “FSC Hybrid Source” certification label that will appear on Tetra Pak packaging indicates that the pulp in its raw materials comes from forests that have been FSC certified or have reached sustainable management standards, and that they are manufactured, processed and sold from pulp to paperboard. Such production and sales links also meet the strict standards of FSC certification.

In response to the increasing concern and support of the Chinese government and the Chinese consumers for environmental protection, especially in conjunction with the 2010 World Expo, which is held in Shanghai, Tetra will specifically use China as a key market for the launch of FSC certified packaging. That is to launch 2 billion FSC-certified packaging, and will strive to make this number exceed 14 billion bags within two years, so that more consumers can buy paper-packed dairy products and beverages with FSC certification marks, through their own consumption. Choose to contribute to the environment. The first batch of FSC certified packaging launched by Tetra Pak China will be launched in July this year, covering three main categories and five specifications of sterile Tetra Pillow, sterile Tetra Pak and sterile Tetra Pak. Li Lexun, President of Tetra Pak China, said: “LeCroy has always adhered to the concept of sustainable development that promotes the coordinated development of economic benefits, society and environment, and promotes environmentally friendly low-carbon initiatives in the operation of the company. At the same time, as a responsible enterprise, We always pay attention to the sustainable development of the whole industry, and cooperate with suppliers, customers and consumers to build a green chain that runs through the upstream and downstream. Tetra Pak will continue to spare no effort to support China's sustainable forest management and certification, and to join hands with more customers. Create a convenient platform for consumers to support environmental protection and participate in low carbon."

For a long time, following the “4R” environmental principles of Renewing, Reducing, Recycling and Responsibly, Tetra Pak has focused on raw material use, product design, and production operations. Run on the principle of reducing the impact on the environment. In the field of raw materials, Tetra Pak always requires that the paperboard used in packaging materials comes from sustainably managed forests that are certified to internationally recognized standards. Following the launch of the world's first liquid food carton packs with the FSC certification mark in the UK market in 2007, Tetra Pak has introduced FSC-certified packaging in several markets around the world, which exceeded 2.3 billion bales in 2009. In addition, Tetra Pak promises that by 2015, all purchased paperboards must be certified by the FSC Chain of Custody. At the same time, Tetra Pak plans to complete the FSC Chain of Custody certification for all packaging and printing plants worldwide by 2018, and Tetra Pak's four packaging plants in China will all pass this certification in the near future.
In China, Tetra Pak has been actively supporting and promoting sustainable forest management projects. Since 2006, Tetra Pak has cooperated with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), the China Green Foundation and the Ministry of Forestry to promote the concept of sustainable forest management, and to effectively support China's forest certification. Sustainable forest management systems provide practical support. In July 2008, with the support of Tetra Pak, more than 100,000 hectares of forest in Yongan Forestry of Fujian Province passed the FSC certification, making China's FSC-certified forest area more than 700,000 hectares, ranking first in Asia. In 2010, Tetra Pak continued to support the sustainable forest management and certification of Yunnan Tengchong Forest Farm. The forest farm is expected to pass the certification audit during the year, which will bring China's sustainable forest management and certification to a new level.
