British invention of nanocell detector

British researchers have recently developed a very tiny nanocell detector that can be placed inside cells to monitor whether cells function normally. This detector can be used to help diagnose diseases and test drug effects.

Researchers at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom reported in the academic publication "ACS Nano" that the detector was made of tiny molecules of gold added with special molecules and only 130 nanometers in diameter. After the detector is sent into the cell, a special laser beam is used to irradiate the cell tissue. By receiving and analyzing the light reflected by the detector, the bioelectrical changes in the cell's internal environment can be detected and the condition of the cell working can be determined.

Researcher Colin Campbell said that the bioelectrical activity of cells is as regular as a clock. If there is an abnormal change in bioelectricity, the cells may have lesions. Therefore, this nanometer probe can be used to help diagnose Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and other diseases. In addition, it can also be used to test drug effects and evaluate the response of cells after drug use.

According to reports, researchers have conducted experiments on this kind of detector in cell tissue cultured in the laboratory. The results show that it is harmless to cells and does not affect the normal physiological functions of cells.
