French wine producer acquires California's oldest winery

French wine producer acquires California's oldest winery Recently, French wine producer Boisset Family Estates acquired California's oldest winery.

Bovasse announced last week that it had purchased Buena Vista Carneros for US$10 million to US$20 million.

Founded in 1857, Buena Vista is California's "first brewery." The main wines produced by the winery are Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Merlot and Syrah, which are suitable for growing in cool climates. These grapes are produced in the Ramal vineyards in the famous Carneros region.

Although Carneros is a treasure trove, the wine produced by the factory was rated as moderate by California wine experts. One expert said that the wine of the factory “has never been successful in attracting me” but added that he believes Bovase will stimulate the potential of Buena Vista and the Ramal vineyard and promote the development of the plant.

The Boisse Family Winery is a multinational wine company headquartered in Burgundy. The CEO of the company, Jean-Charles Boisset, said that he was deeply attracted by "the oldest winery in the California Wine World."

“The addition of Buena Vista will provide convenience for us to enter the California market, where the quality of the wine is determined by the terroir.”

Bovasse emphasized that Buena Vista will “mainly focus on producing the classic brand wines of this winery” - some media revealed that Ramal Vineyard will continue to provide wine grapes for Buena Vista for a long time.

The Boisse Family Winery was established in Burgundy in 1961. Today, the company has more than 20 wineries in the Napa Valley in the Burgundy, Beaujolais, Rhone Valley, Southern France, Canada, and the Californian Russian River Valley.

Boise's winery brands include DeLoach, Lyeth and Raymond vineyards in California; Bouchard A in Burgundy? Né&Fils, Domaine de la Vougeraie, J Moreau et Fils, Jaffelin and Ropiteau; Grandin in the Loire Valley and the Rabbit brand of Tetra Pak.

The acquisition was completed by Vinum Capital Management, a California stockbroking company. Stephen Kuhn, the company's chief executive officer, said that it was an excellent time to invest in wineries.
