Knight hopes to develop an implantable device that directly decodes brain signals, converts words that people think into voice files, and then reads them directly through voice devices.
Based on such devices, people can communicate with paralyzed patients through electronic speakers or writing devices, but current researchers still have a lot of research work to do. Using electrodes placed on the surface of the brain area of ​​the awake patient, they can monitor the electronic response pattern of the brain cells. The scientists then built a computer model that matched these speech signals to brain information.
Knight explained that when people hear words, we record electronic information directly from the human brain language area. After that, we decode these electronic information and turn them into voice files, which express the brain consciousness of the paralyzed patients very accurately.
