Feeding ewes management

Under house feeding conditions, 0.2 kg to 0.3 kg of ewes per day are fed to the ewes.

Mixed concentrate formula

Cornmeal 60%, wheat bran 21%, bean cake 15%, salt 1%, calcium hydrogen phosphate 3%. The daily feed amount of roughage is 1.2 kg to 1.4 kg.

formula

苜蓿 49%, silage 49%, and root-based feed 2%. At the same time, according to the physiological changes of the ewes, different management methods can be adopted during the three phases of empty period, gestation period (5 months) and lactation period (3 months to 4 months). However, during the feeding period, the ewes must be allowed to exercise for more than 6 hours per day.

Empty period (recovery period)

If the ewes are lambing in January-February (feeding on 120 days), then May-July is the recovery period; in spring April-May, lambs are born, and August-September is the recovery period. During the recovery period, the lamb is already weaning, and the ewes stop lactating. It is necessary to focus on increasing the nutrition of the ewes so that they can recover their strength and strive to make the ewes furry and breed.

Pregnancy (5 months)

The first 3 months are the pre-pregnancy period. During this period, the embryo develops slowly. Do not add too much nutrient feed. The last two months of gestation in ewes are late in pregnancy. During this period, the number of embryos increases rapidly and the demand for nutrients increases significantly. It is necessary to strengthen supplementation to meet the needs of embryonic growth and development.

The early pregnant ewes at the end of gestation will increase the amount of grass in advance of the ewes. The ewes in later stages of pregnancy should adhere to more than 6 hours of exercise every day (walking mileage is not less than 8 kilometers). Do not drive too fast, do not chase, fight or frighten. Do not let ewe drink ice and water to prevent miscarriage. . Do not feed moldy and frozen feed.

Breastfeeding

Lamb feeding period is 70 days to 120 days. Two months after childbirth is the pre-lactation period, which is the key stage for feeding nursing ewes. At this time, the growth and development of lambs mainly rely on breast milk to provide nutrition, so the raising standards for ewe should be higher.

Breast-eating ewes should always check the breast and lactation. If there is excess milk, the amount of concentrate and juicy feed can be properly reduced to prevent mastitis.
