Buddha grass --- roof greening lawn

Sedum lineare. The grass was born on rocks, walls, and eaves. It is especially drought-resistant, but it also enjoys water. The experiments conducted by the Institute of Environmental Sciences, Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences show that the grass is planted on multi-layered flat roofs, with no (less) soil cultivation to reduce the roof load; no penetration of the roots does not damage the roof structure; strong resistance to stress, resistance to Shanghai High temperature, low temperature, insects do not like to eat, no need for self-management and more management; can be used as a flat roof green lawn. In the past three years, our company has selected the best varieties of A. pygmaea for its performance traits and promoted it to Shanghai and surrounding cities.

Roof greening:
1. Increase the green area;
2. Change the air landscape;
3. Adsorption of large amounts of airborne suspended substances to purify the air
4. Protect the roof structure and extend the service life of the waterproof layer;
5. Create a miracle of greening large-scale multi-storey flat-roofed houses;
6. Lower the summer roof temperature.

Buddha grass properties:
The A. formosanus belongs to the genus of Jingjing Kejing and is born in the mountains and is perennial. In February, the seedlings grow into a cluster and are four or five inches high. The stems are juicy. Most bushes. In the part lying on the ground, the roots take root. (leaf) linear and fleshy, pale green, three-wheeled. In the early summer, branches shoot, yellow, and five petals. The male buds have the same number of petals. (See "The Botany Dictionary").

Jingtianke Jingtian has the advantages of Buddha grass:

First, the natural roof conditions grow well.

There are natural species on the roof of old houses in Shanghai's urban and suburban areas. They grow on the roof of the house or on the dust accumulation between the tiles. Four seasons grow. It spreads, sagging along the eaves, up to about 30 centimeters in length, and it is growing well.

Second, extremely resistant to drought.

The two species of Buddha grass used were planted on a flat roof with a 1 cm thick substrate. In the summer dry season, after 20 days of mid-July, no rain, continuous high temperature of 35-40 °C, roof temperature of 50-55 °C, in the case where the substrate can be used with fire, the grass will not die, but some wilting The leaves are slightly white. After the rain began, the grass began to grow green again.

Third, can resist low temperature in Shanghai, safe winter.

In January 2001, the temperature was -3°C, and the roof temperature was -5°C. Severe frost was applied. The entire substrate and grass were frozen. However, the grass did not die. Only the top leaves and stems turned dark brown. When it is warm, it freezes and it resumes growth. In early February, the young seedlings can be seen forming a "green grass blanket" on top of the frozen stems and leaves.

Fourth, no thick-bed planting is required to reduce the load on flat roofs.

The grass can be cultivated using a soilless artificial substrate. The planting layer is about 5 cm. The load per square meter does not exceed 40 kg, and the grass roots form an integral plate with the matrix to prevent the matrix from being washed by rain.

5. The root system has no penetration and will not damage the roof structure.

The roots of the grass were weak and fine, with shallow roots, flat growth, and mesh distribution. No cracks were found through the roof.

Six, extensive management, self-inflicted.

The grasshopper grows, and each seedling can grow seedlings on its leaf nodes and take roots. Seedlings use old stems and leaves as a nutrient source without fertilization. After the old stems and leaves are used by the seedlings, they are not yellow after atrophy, so they will not form submerged grass and affect the landscape. The height of the grass does not exceed 20 centimeters. After growing taller, the seedlings will not be trimmed. There may be weeds on the lawns of Buddhas, but they will disappear naturally under severe drought conditions. Since the grasshopper does not like to eat, there are fewer pests and diseases. However, the substrate may contain field bugs that can be eliminated by hitting some pesticides.

In short, there is no need to administer A. sinensis, and it is natural to grow well without fertilizing, watering, weeding, and pruning after planting.
