Principle of rotary vane pump and troubleshooting methods for common faults

The rotary vane vacuum pump is referred to as the "rotary vane pump". Its models are as follows: 2X rotary vane vacuum pump, 2XZ rotary vane vacuum pump, XD rotary vane vacuum pump, TRP rotary vane vacuum pump. The pumping speed ranges from 0.5 to 150 liters per second (1 liter = 10-3 m3), the working pressure range is 1 x 105 to 1 Pa, and the pressure range for larger pumping speed is 1 x 105 to 13 Pa. Limit pressure: 1 Pa for a single stage rotary vane pump and 6.5 x 10-2 Pa for a two stage rotary vane pump. The pump is suitable for pumping out gases that are dry or contain a small amount of condensable vapor. It is not suitable for pumping gases that are too high in oxygen, explosive, corrosive, chemically reactive to vacuum pump oils and contain large amounts of solid particles. In the vacuum system, the rotary vane pump can be used alone or as a fore pump of a vacuum pump such as a booster pump, a diffusion pump, or a Roots pump.

Then, in the operation of the rotary vane pump, if the operation is not correct, most of the rotary vane pump failure will occur. For example, the degree of vacuum drop, fuel injection, smoke, oil leakage at the oil seal, noise, etc., may also be caused by the emulsification of the vacuum pump oil inside the rotary vane pump. Once these situations occur, don't be nervous first. After stopping the pump, remove it according to the fault performance. Here are a few common troubleshooting phenomena and troubleshooting methods.

First, the degree of vacuum is reduced: it means that the measured degree of vacuum is lower than the vacuum when used at the factory or before. The reasons for the low vacuum are many. Here are a few common causes of failures.

Fault 1, the vacuum pump oil number added this time is different from the original one. Different grades of vacuum pump oil, because the saturated vapor pressure is not the same, the results will be different. Remedy: Select the correct vacuum pump oil according to the model of the product.

Fault 2. The content of water vapor and impurities in the pumped gas is too high, causing the vacuum pump oil to be emulsified or discolored. Remedy: Discharge the vacuum pump oil in the pump, replace it with the same type of pump oil, and set the filter to ensure that the water vapor and impurities in the pumped gas do not enter the pump.

Fault 3, the temperature of the pumped gas may be too high. Remedy: Reduce the temperature of the gas being pumped, or add a corresponding heat exchanger.

Fault 4, the oil passage in the pump is not smooth or not smooth, and there is no certain amount of oil in the pump chamber. Remedy: Check if the oil circuit is unblocked and add the same type of vacuum pump oil.

Fault 5, the clearance of the inner part fits. This is because the dust is contained in the gas to be pumped for a long period of time, and the gap between the rotary vane and the stator is increased. Remedy: Check if the gap is too large and replace the new parts.

Second, the noise is too large: here refers to the noise of the pump.

Fault 1, knocking the cylinder, the rotary disc pump emits an irregular sound when it is running, as if the metal hits the metal. This is the sound that the rotary disc makes when hitting the pump body. This situation is caused by spring breaks or shrinkage or pop-up failures between the paired rotors. Remedy: Disassemble the pump body and check if the rotor spring is damaged. Replace the spring.

Fault 2, exhaust valve plate noise, mainly the pump exhaust valve plate is damaged. Remedy: Replace the exhaust valve plate.

Third, smoke and fuel injection: refers to the rotary vane pump in the operation of the exhaust port smoke or fuel injection.

Fault 1, smoke, if the pump is just starting to run, there is a smoke phenomenon, it is normal. If you smoke for a long time, it is not normal. Remedy: Smoke indicates that the pump's air inlet, including pipes, valves, and containers, needs to be repaired mainly because of air leakage. After checking the leaked area and handling it, the smoke will end.

Fault 2, fuel injection, indicating that there are a large number of leaks outside the air inlet, even the air inlet is exposed to the atmosphere. Remedy: Seal the air inlet of the pump to make the pump run. If there is no fuel injection, it indicates that there is a leak; the exhaust valve is damaged, check the exhaust valve for damage, and replace the new exhaust valve.
