Colorful turtle artificial reproduction technique

Colorful Turtle is also known as Brazilian Painted Turtle, alias “Red-eared Turtle”. It is native to the Americas and its meat is delicate. It can treat a variety of diseases. Turtle and turtle shells can cure kidney yin deficiency, uterine bleeding, hemorrhoids, hemorrhage and tuberculosis. , hepatitis, all kinds of cancer, prolapse of the anus, etc.; turtle blood has a special function of inhibiting cancer cells. In addition, the growth rate is very fast. In the summer high temperature season, the monthly weight gain can reach 125 grams each, and the amount of eggs laid is higher than that of common turtles. The hatching rate and survival rate are also much higher than those of ordinary turtles. The artificial breeding techniques of colorful turtle are introduced as follows:

1. Male and female identification: Generally female turtles in the same age turtle are larger than males, with small tails, flat or more convex plastron; male tail long and thick, abdominal invagination was concave shape, hatching young turtle is not easy Identification.

2. Breeding methods: spawning 3 to 4 times a year, generally from the end of May to August for the mating period, 6 to 9 months for the spawning period, before and after the summer solstice is the spawning period, the female turtles lay about 45 eggs, Up to 80 to 90.

3. Incubation method: Incubate at the temperature of the natural environment. Evacuate the eggs in a cask of 2 to 3 cm wet sand with air permeability and water leakage. The egg and egg are separated by more than 3 cm and then on the eggs. Cover 2 to 3 cm thick wet sand, put the box cover on the board, check once every 3 to 4 days to keep the sand moist. At an air temperature of 24 to 25°C, generally after 50 to 70 days, the small turtle shells out. If necessary, artificial hatching can also be performed.

4. To improve female turtles spawning volume:

(1) Proportion of male to female should be appropriate. In general, the ratio of male to female is 4:1. If the male turtle in the pool is strong and has a large body size, the number of male turtles may be smaller, whereas the number of male turtles should be increased. If there are more paw scratches on the female turtle's back, it means that there are too many males.

(2) Supply sufficient protein feed. In order to meet the nutritional needs of spawning, animal feeds such as snails, clams, and small fish and shrimps must be fed regularly, quantitatively, and at fixed points.

(3) Do a good job of water quality management. To ensure that the turtle pool water pollution, moderate fat, pale green or dark brown, water transparency in 20 cm. In this way, many microorganisms in the water also make the turtle feel safe. The water is too thin to splash on fresh people's excrement, or pile up manure on the pool side to allow the fertilizer to flow into the pool. The depth of water should be moderate so as to improve the water temperature. Change the water once a week. When changing the water, keep the original pool water 1/10.

(4) Finishing the spawning ground. The spawning ground is also the sun's backyard for turtles. Prior to spawning, the egg field should be leveled and covered with 40 cm thick fresh sand and kept moist.

(5) Ensure turtle ponds are quiet. Turtles are afraid of ringing when mating and spawning, and should be quiet. In the breeding season, unnecessary artificial actions must be reduced. It is also necessary to eliminate natural enemies in turtle farms in order to reduce interference and avoid natural enemies.

(6) Increase lighting time. Increase the number of hours of light, can increase the amount of eggs laid, it should be installed in the turtle pool above the lights. Lights at night can attract insects for turtle food, but also increase the number of hours of illumination, killing two birds with one stone.
